Finally... Kayla Coyote

I spoke about how this shoot was a year in the making in my Post Shoot Selfie post with Kayla Coyote, but I’ll give a little background again here.

Back on November 27, 2021 I reached out to Kayla in hopes of being able to set something up so that we could create something together. If you know me, you know that I’m not afraid to get on a plane just to shoot someone that I think I’d make some dope photographs with. Just ask India Williams. Lucky for me, Kayla was down to work on something with me. We set a date and time for January 2022, I booked my flight and Airbnb, and found a location for us to shoot in. Everything was good. Three days before my flight, I go down to take a Covid travel test and guess what… I had The Covid! That was both bad and good for different reasons. But the bad was because I had to cancel my trip to the Pacific Northwest. That sucked.

After gather my life and making some transitions (the good that came from The Covid), it was time to reach out to Kayla again. January 20, 2023 I was on a plane to Portland, Oregon. This time we were able to make it happen. There were a few hiccups with the original place I booked for us to shoot in, which resulted in a change of ideas and concepts. But I think I found a better spot to shoot in because of it.

Kayla was amazing. The second I opened the door to the studio, there were jokes; I brought it on myself, but it was great that she was friendly enough to make it. I knew we were in for a fun two hours. I plotting to get back to Portland so that we can knock out the original shoot that I had planned as she seemed really interested in it. Hopefully, I can get that first spot I tried to book.

Below are a few photographs from the first part of our shoot. And if you stay until the end you’ll see a peek at something else that we shot. We also did some video stuff as well that I’ll be sharing in the future. So stay tuned for that.
