New year, new look, new Pai--- Bishop!

It’s that time again. A new year. And with that, some new things.

First thing: New books! If you’ve been checking out the blog and Twitter, Create Vol. 3 was released today and I have The Raw Zine coming back with volume 6 in 4 days. There are some more issues of The Raw Zine already scheduled and on their way back to me from the printer. See what’s coming below.

As far what I’m working on this year. The annual India & Bishop Shoot Weekend is happening in two weeks. I have something fun planned for that. But besides that, I am slowing down a bit more with shooting, which has been something that has been happening with each new year. But even with that, what I have been shooting has been a lot better and a lot more focused on being more creative with shoots and shooting for print. Last year’s feature in Goodies Magazine was big push for me to create more work like that, be it a feature in someone else’s magazine or shooting for my own books, more of that is coming.

I’ll also be working on bringing more of my favorite work to my print shop. There were a lot of photographs up there, but I went through and did a ‘purge’ and got it down to some of my favorites, as well as gave you some more option when buying. Instead of everything being the standard Professional Paper, I’m offering more prints on fine art paper as well as some framing options.

Some things that won’t be happening this year and beyond.

For the appreciators of my work:
No more digital work outside of what I post here on this site and promotional images for work that I’m preparing for print. I’ve been wanting to move away from the world of Internet displaying of my work and have been talking about it for some time now. I’ve decided that this is the time to make it happen. There may be a photographs here and there posted on Twitter and you’ll still get blog posts here for my Into The Archives series, but that’s about it. I really want to move to the world of print with at least 97% of my work.

For potential collaborators (models):
The above will include creating work that will be exclusive to what I’m shooting it for. Be it a feature in a magazine or a print project of my own. To create all of this work over the years and have it available to view online for free (Instagrams, Twitters, etc.) make it difficult to present it to an audience on a physical medium and have them interested in buying it. Why would you buy something you can look at for free. I will be sending a copy of my updated model release to anyone I contact to create something with. If you want to collaborate on something that you would like to be able to present online, let’s talk about that. I’m open to it, but that will involve special terms on what we’re creating.

The focus for this year and beyond is just creating more creative work that I love. Focusing on some of the projects that I’ve started that I haven’t pushed to build on as hard as I’ve wanted to. Long-term stuff. Not just for the quick photographs to throw online. I want to have that big 300-page, hardcover coffee table book of inspired and inspiring work in the next 10 years. So I hope you stick around and enjoy the zines and some other things that are coming that I haven’t talked about yet. I’m falling back to try to fall more in love with what I’m doing instead of making it ‘work’ while also being creative.
